It has been already around two months when I finished travelling on the Silk Road and as I planned from the beginning I moved then to Myanmar. I have to admit that if you manage reach you dream it is nice feeling but it “run out” as far as it comes. Travelling in Central Asia was experience itself because of bureaucracy, poor state of road but most of all people who live in this part of the World. They are simply amazing and made your way more enjoyable. Except this you have chance to see beautiful nature with its landscapes but what I enjoyed even more is that these countries are not yet discovered by tourist. Huge advantage of this is that one can still see more or less authentic way of life. Not life which prepare for you tourist agencies in places like is for example Thailand.
In these days are many people asking me all around basically three questions about my journey on the Silk Road.
First question is: “Which country you have visited on your way you like most”? Honestly, quite tricky question. It is hard to choose only one country. All of them were different and in some ways nice in other way worse than other. I think that more important is If you enjoy your time and I without doubts did.
Second question I get is: “How much cost you that five and half months of travelling in Central Asia? It has to be expensive.” Well here depends how you look at word “expensive”. For somebody can be 10 thousand USD expensive for other people it is not high price. In general depends what you really want. Than no price is too high. To give answer on this question I would say 85 800,- CZK (or 3 350 USD) for whole trip from Istanbul in Turkey to Xi-an in China. In this amount are not included visa fees or travel insurance.
Last question I often have to answer is “What next? When do you intent come home?” Here I wouldn’t mention exact date even thou I personally gave it to myself. At the beginning was main goal travel by land on ancient Silk Road and I promised myself that I will continue further as far as I will enjoy my trip and the journey will still giving me something. Also in case I would already finish my way on “Silk Road” and would have some good job opportunity I would like than it is second reason why to quit travelling.
At this moment is my plan to continue by land thought SE Asia, Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea to Australia. What means “by land”? Simply continue in no plane policy. Where to go or what to do next? For that is still lot of time. First one step than next one…
